Garmin

Your glucose on your Garmin. Any sensor.

The Ando Glucose data field puts your CGM reading on your watch during runs and workouts, then Garmin Connect charts it. FreeStyle Libre, Dexcom, Medtronic, Medtrum or Nightscout.

Two ways Ando works with Garmin

On the watch during the workout. In context after it.

Use the data field, link your Garmin account, or both. Each works on its own.

During the workout

Glucose on your data screen.

Add the free Ando Glucose data field from the Connect IQ Store to your run, ride or gym screen. It shows your latest reading next to pace and heart rate, and writes your glucose into the activity file, so Garmin Connect draws a glucose chart with average, minimum and maximum afterwards.

  • Updates when you start the timer, then every five minutes
  • mg/dL or mmol/L on the watch
  • No Garmin login needed: a token from the Ando app links the field

After the workout

Every Garmin workout and night, with your glucose.

Link your Garmin account and your activities and sleep come into Ando on their own. Each workout gets its glucose curve, from before the start to an hour after, with heart rate, elevation and speed alongside and your route. Each night gets your sleep stages next to your overnight glucose.

  • Activities and sleep import automatically
  • Your last 30 days come in when you link

Set up the data field

Four steps, about four minutes.

  1. Install Ando Glucose

Open the Connect IQ Store on your phone, search for “Ando” and install the Ando Glucose data field on your watch.

  2. Add it to a screen

In Garmin Connect, open your watch, then Activities & Apps, pick Run (or any activity) and add Ando Glucose to a data screen.

  3. Paste your token

In Ando, go to Settings, CGM, Garmin watch and generate a device token. Paste it into the field’s settings in Connect IQ.

  4. Start your workout

Your glucose shows on the watch during the activity, and a glucose chart appears in Garmin Connect afterwards.

Every tap is in the step-by-step guide.

Every sensor

Libre, Dexcom, Medtronic: the same field.

Ando reads your glucose from your sensor’s cloud, so the data field works the same way whatever you wear. No extra hardware, nothing to install on your phone besides Ando.

Already use Dexcom’s Garmin apps?

Keep them. Ando adds the context.

If you wear a Dexcom G6 or G7, Dexcom offers its own Connect IQ apps for some watches. They’re a fine way to see your number. Ando works alongside them, and adds what happens around the number: the glucose chart in Garmin Connect, the workout and the night in context in Ando, the block on your Strava post and your daily and weekly wraps.

If you wear a FreeStyle Libre, a Medtronic or a Medtrum sensor, or use Nightscout, Ando gives you the same field with the same setup.

FAQ

Questions people ask

Can I see FreeStyle Libre 3 glucose on my Garmin?

Yes. Connect your Libre to Ando through LibreLinkUp, install the Ando Glucose data field from the Connect IQ Store and add it to an activity screen. Your glucose shows on the watch during the activity, and Garmin Connect charts it afterwards.

Does it work with Dexcom G7 and Medtronic Simplera?

Yes. The data field works with every sensor Ando supports: Dexcom G7, G6 and ONE+, FreeStyle Libre 2 and 3, Medtronic Simplera and Guardian, Medtrum TouchCare Nano and Nightscout.

Do I need my phone with me?

Yes. The watch fetches your glucose through the Garmin Connect app on your phone, over Bluetooth, so your phone needs to be with you and online. The Ando app does not need to be open.

How often does the glucose on my watch update?

As soon as you start the timer, then every five minutes while it runs, which is the shortest interval Garmin allows for this kind of field. If the latest reading is more than 15 minutes old, the field shows -- rather than an old number.

Will I see a glucose chart in Garmin Connect?

Yes. The field records your glucose into the activity file, so Garmin Connect shows a glucose chart with average, minimum and maximum after the activity. Install the field from the Connect IQ Store for the chart to appear. Garmin Connect always charts mg/dL.

Does the field show a trend arrow?

The field shows the value, in mg/dL or mmol/L. For the trend arrow and the recent curve, start Live on your phone: it shows on your lock screen and, on iPhone, in your Apple Watch Smart Stack.

Does it work on a Garmin Edge bike computer?

Not at the moment. The Ando Glucose data field runs on Garmin watches (Forerunner, fēnix, epix, Enduro, Venu, vívoactive and Instinct), not on Edge cycling computers.

Is the data field free?

The field is free to install and is included with an Ando membership. Without a membership it shows -- instead of your glucose.
